PREPARING FOR EASTER
Join us for this special week of prayer!
Calvary Southbury is partnering with our brothers and sisters in Malawi & Mozambique, for a 7 day, 24 hours per day, chain of unbroken prayer leading up to Easter to bring our church community together and seek the presence of God!
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
BEGINS: Saturday, March 28 at 8pm
ENDS: Saturday, April 4 at 8pm
Calvary Southbury will cover 12 hours each day (11am-11pm EST)
Our sister churches in Malawi & Mozambique will cover the other 12 hours
Sign up to cover an hour (or more) in prayer!
Each hour will be booked by only 1 person at a time but we encourage you to bring others along to pray with you during your hour
We will have a Prayer Guide to use as a "blueprint" of prayer - it helps direct your prayers and makes the hour go so fast.
Prayer will (mostly) be done in person in the Prayer Room at church!
There are a few times where the hour of prayer can't be done at church. We are designating those as "pray from home" hours. They are noted in purple on the prayer sign-up.
- Sunday 3/29 (during service): 11am & 12pm
- Monday 3/30 (during CR): 6pm - 10pm
- Friday 4/3 (during service): 7pm & 8pm

WHY should we participate in the 24/7 Prayer Week?
FOR COMMUNITY
- Instead of isolating, reap the benefits being with others in our church!
- It’s easy enough for us each to keep to ourselves and seek the Lord from the comfort of our own homes, but we know that there are benefits to being with others within our church community, and seeking the Lord together.
- "For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” Matthew 18:30
TO EXPERIENCE GOD'S PRESENCE
- We believe the presence and power of God will be very strong in that place and we will all experience God in new ways!
- We know that the church is not a building, it’s people. But we believe that a place set apart for us to meet with God will bring about a greater outpouring of His presence and power than when we are isolated and alone.
TO CHALLENGE OURSELVES
- Let's think outside the box in our approach to prayer!
- Many of us think of prayer as only intercession, but it is more that too. We will provide creative ways for you to commune with God, through journaling, writing poetry, and other artistic endeavors.
- We also encourage you during that time to be still and listen. It’s a place to step away from the distractions of the world and the busy and say, here I am God, what do you have to say to me?
HOW do we participate in the 24/7 Prayer Week?
SIGN-UP is the first step!
- You can come once, or multiple times throughout the week.
PRAYER GUIDE
- We will have a Prayer Guide available that will take you through some prompts to help you pray through the hour.
- There will be bibles there too but you may want to bring your own bible and try praying through some scripture, using it as a guide.
BE CREATIVE
- We will also have some supplies available if you want to open yourself up to communing with God in different ways - paper, pens, markers. You can also bring your own supplies from home and use them there in the space we provide.
